Job Description:

RTSC’s Training Organization is currently seeking a full time on-site Training Manager for the Miami ATCT / TRACON. This position is in support of the FAA Air Traffic Control Optimum Training Solution (ATCOTS) program. This position will function as Contract Site Supervisors (CSS) at the Miami International Airport Terminal Radar Approach Control (TRACON) facility and the surrounding TRACONs and Air Traffic Control Towers (ATCT). This hands-on position will require the candidate to manage the overall delivery of contract training support at the facility level including effective communication with FAA personnel, execution of the contract transition plan, management of human resources, development of training plans, development and maintenance of training material, conduct of training courses, training administration and adherence to the highest quality standards throughout the operation. The objective is to provide timely and effective training for ATC personnel.

Required Skills:

Candidates must have FAA, Military, or commercial Air Traffic Control training and experience with experience in a supervisory capacity of not less than 2 years. Prior (or current) certification as an Air Traffic Controller is required. Instructor experience, both in the classroom and laboratory (procedural and radar), is required. Candidates must be knowledgeable about current practices in Air Traffic Control and the current state of the NAS

Able to interface effectively with FAA facility management at all levels to insure contract compliance by all parties. Able to protect RTN interests and stakes during contract term.

Able to effectively deal with “people issues” (sickness, tardiness, personal problems, etc.) on an ongoing basis.

With the FAA training manager, able to continuously evaluate classroom and simulator training and receive and apply feedback as required.

Desired Skills: ATC “Area Knowledge” and experience at the Miami TRACON facility level is desired. Curriculum development experience is desired.

Required Education (including Major):

A Bachelors degree with eight years of related experience or 16 years of equivalent experience in lieu of a degree and training in FAA, military, or commercial Air Traffic Control Operations is required.

*Must be able to obtain DOT Clearance.
